“I was encouraged to enrol on the Graduate Diploma in Management Studies by my employer. As a vet, the majority of my studies had previously focused on science and animals, and management was not an area I had formally studied before. It wasn’t a subject that I had considered taking a qualification in and initially it felt like a deviation from my usual focus. However, soon after starting the course I was able to identify areas within my professional life where I was going to be able to utilise the information I was receiving.
Studying on top of a busy full-time job requires commitment, but all the tutors recognised and acknowledged the demands placed on the students’ time. They were knowledgeable and approachable, and often went the extra mile for any students who sought additional clarification.
In pursuing and obtaining the Graduate Diploma in Management Studies I felt I gained valuable insight in to subjects that are relevant to me as an individual, a citizen and an employee. I was very pleased to have broadened my horizons.”
