Travelling by Car
Engineers’ House is easily accessible from the M4 and M5 within a 10 minute drive. Parking is available on site as well as a regular complementary shuttle service operating to and from West End Car Park in the city centre.
Travelling by Rail
Bristol Temple Meads mainline station is a short distance from Engineers’ House. Taxis are readily available from outside the station, and we have a shuttle service running throughout the day (as mentioned above).
Travelling by Air
Engineers’ House is a 20 minute drive from Bristol City Airport.

Bristol Business College delivers courses at Engineers' House, Clifton, Bristol. Originally known as Camp House, the venue was built by Charles Dyer in 1831. Dyer, a leading Bristol Architect in the 1820s, also designed Litfield House and Christ Church on Clifton Down. Engineers' House is within walking distance of the historic Clifton Suspension Bridge, S.S Great Britain and the Bristol Observatory.
This historic building enjoys good transport links, with Temple Meads Intercity Railway station only 3 miles away, which provides rail access to the whole of the UK, and also operates a bus shuttle service to Bristol Airport. The centre is located close to the M4 and M5 motorways and only minutes from Bristol City Centre, which offers a range of ancillary, retail, leisure and hotel facilities.
From London on the M4 & The Midlands & North on the M5:
At M4 junction 20, take the M5 southwards towards Avonmouth and Bristol and continue to junction 19 (Gordano Services). Take the A369 to Brsitol West & Clifton. After approx 4 miles turn left at the sign for Clifton (toll). Cross the Suspension Bridge (at present 50p toll) and take the first left turn. Bear left at the next junction and Engineers' House is about 100 metres along on your right hand side.
From South Wales on the M4/ M49:
Once over the Second Severn Crossing on the M4, take junction 22 onto the M49 to Avonmouth. Then join the M5 and continue to junction 19 (Gordano Services). Take the A369 to Bristol West & Clifton. After approx 4 miles turn left at the sign for Clifton (toll). Cross the Suspension Bridge (at present 50p toll) and take the first left turn. Bear left at the next junction and Engineers' House is about 100 metres along on your right hand side.
From the South West on the M5:
Leave the m5 at junction 19 (Gordano Services). Take the A369 to Bristol West & Clifton. After approx 4 miles turn left at the sign for Clifton (toll). Cross the Suspension Bridge (at present 50p toll) and take the first left turn. Bear left at the next junction and Engineers' House is about 100 metres along on your right hand side.
From Bath on the A4 or Wells on the A37:
On reaching Bristol follow signs for the City Centre. After the junction with the A4/ A37 Three Lamps junction, move into the left hand lane after the bus lane ends. Turn left at the roundabout into York Rd (signed A4 Avonmouth). At the next roundabout take the second exit on to Coronation Rd, keeping the river on your right hand side. Follow the next sign to Avonmouth A4 until you reach the swing bridge junction then stay in the left hand lane following signs to City Centre/ Clifton/ Hotwells. After crossing the river the road bears right. Take the next turning left on to Clifton Vale Rd, head to the top of the road and then turn left into Cornwallis Crescent. At the end of the road turn right into Granby Hill and then next left onto Wellington Terrace. Follow the road to the give way junction- drive across road and across the green. At T junction bear left onto the Promenade. Engineers' House is 100 metres along on your right hand side.
