DIPLOMA IN TOURISM & BUSINESS STUDIES
Course Introduction
The international growth in tourism, together with the matching growth in the volume of business travel has made Travel & Tourism the fastest growing industry in the world. The ICM programme in Tourism & Business Studies has been designed to provide participants with an understanding of the global structure of the industry and its component parts, and the business skills which are necessary for sustainable tourism development. This course is offered to those already working in the tourism industry, or who may wish to seek employment in that sector.

Schedule: 2 evenings per week 6.15-9.30pm
Duration: Offered twice yearly - in October, and early in the New Year (either January, February or March) 1 year part-time
Course Aims & Objectives
Students will acquire both the practical and theoretical knowledge required to perform competently in a variety of tourism-oriented environments. The course introduces a range of marketing opportunities for tourism services, both at home and abroad and meets the needs of those who wish to work for Travel Agents, Travel Shops, Tour Operators, Tourism Authorities, Tourist Information Centres, Car Hire Operators, Hotel Groups and other tourism related commercial operations.

Assessment
Examinations will be held at the end of the academic year in June. Upon successful completion of examinations the student will be awarded the ICM Diploma in Tourism & Business Studies.
